The
purpose of the Sunshine State Horse Council (or AHOOF - Affilliated Horse
Organizations Of Florida) is to encourage, develop and promote an active interest
in all equestrian activities; to promote an develop legislation in the favor and
friendship of all equestrians and all equestrian activities and associations;
to promote by activity and legislation the wise use and management of our natural
resources in the best interst of present and future generations of equestrians
in the state of Florida; to aid and assist in the development of equestrian recreational
facilities; to develop and promote eduational programs that aid, support and improve
the quality of life for the horseman and the people of this great state.
We are committed
to the following ongoing goals: - Achieve
political recognition of the economic impact of the horse industry
- Preserve
the trails and lands suitable for riding and camping
- Reduce
the liability to equine instructors, show promoters, land owners and liveries
while participating in horse related activities
- Expand
the industry to a wider segment of the population
- Monitor
legislative issues which affect the equine industry and encourage legislation
which is favorable to the equine industry
- Educate
the public and horse owners about disaster planning for equines through educational
materials and seminars
